Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.: Trinity College of Jacksonville (3-0-1) at Polk State (3-0)

PREVIEW

• With last Wednesday's 4-1 win over Webber International University JV, Polk State equaled last season's win total. This marks the fifth time in six years that the Eagles have started 3-0.

• Polk State's Janessa Crespo has scored in each of the Eagles' first three matches this season. She finished with a goal and an assist in last week's win over Webber International. She ranks second in the FCSAA in assists (4) and third in points (10).

• Polk State is currently averaging six goals per match. That ranks fourth in the entire country. Eleven different players have scored a goal this season for the Eagles.

• Polk State will look to avenge a pair of losses to Miami Dade from last season. The Sharks won 4-2 when the teams played in Lakeland last year. Miami Dade's Julia Gurgel and Mariana Sanchez Gomez each have two goals this season for the Sharks.

• Polk State freshman Marie Narewski has scored goals in each of her first three matches and is tied for the team lead with three. She's the first Polk State player to score goals in each of her first three collegiate matches since Raisa Lugo in 2021.

• Polk State defeated Trinity College of Jacksonville last season in Jacksonville by a 5-0 score. Zoe Torres and Noemi Casique each scored two goals in the victory. Casique added an assist.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Thursday, Sept. 11 at 5 p.m.: Andrew College (2-5) at Polk State College (4-5)

PREVIEW

• With two wins on Saturday, Polk State equaled last season's win total. The Eagles can eclipse it by beating Andrew College for a second straight match.

• In Saturday's 3-0 sweep of Andrew, Polk State allowed just 30 total points. That is the lowest ever allowed by Polk State since scoring went to the current format. The five points for Andrew in the third set was also the fewest ever allowed by the Eagles under the current scoring format.

• Polk State is accepting food donations to support Talbot House Ministries prior to Thursday's match against Andrew College. Talbot House feeds between 400 and 500 people each day. In addition to meals, the nonprofit also provides showers, clothing and housing assistance among other services. It has several programs, including for addiction, diversion and education. Admission is free with the donation of a food item.

• Polk State now has three of the top five servers in the FCSAA. Alexia Ortiz (0.80), Addison Phillippe (0.63) and Marina Santos (0.62) rank second, third and fourth, respectively, in service aces per set.

• Ortiz also ranks second in the FCSAA in hitting percentage (.347). Phillippe is third in assists per set (7.78). Sophomore libero Isabella Ramos ranks fifth in digs per set (3.75).
