Polk State Soccer’s Noble named FCSAA Player of the Week following multi-goal performance

LAKELAND – After another stellar performance against nationally ranked competition, Polk State Soccer was represented with statewide individual recognition for the second week in a row.

Freshman forward Jaycie Noble was named the FCSAA Player of the Week on Tuesday. Goalkeeper Sofia Zapata earned the honor last week following a 10-save performance on September 23 against then No. 2 Daytona State College.

"Jaycie has been incredible for us all season long," Head Coach Dee Shivraman said. "Her physicality and work rate have made a big impact this season. She complements our team in terms of our team profile, which is not necessarily flashy, but she puts in gritty performances."

Noble scored both Polk State goals in a 2-1 win over then No. 13 Eastern Florida State College on September 30. With a pair of second-half goals in the victory over the Titans, Noble became the first Polk State player to score multiple goals in a conference match since Marcella Koasne netted a pair against Daytona State College in October 2022.

"It's always exciting to see your student-athletes recognized," added Randy Lee, Polk State Director of Athletics. "This is a well-deserved honor for a tremendous performance against one of the blue bloods of this level."

Noble's seven goals lead Polk State and rank third in the FCSAA. The Callahan, Fla. native also ranks fourth in the FCSAA with 15 points this season.

"To see student-athletes like Jaycie win weekly statewide awards brings tremendous pride to our institution," Polk State President Anastasios Kamoutsas said. "Congratulations to all of our athletes and coaches on yet another outstanding effort."

With less than two weeks remaining in the regular season, Polk State owns a 5-3-2 record. After receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Poll on Monday, the Eagles will face a fifth straight nationally ranked opponent on Saturday when they travel back to Melbourne for a neutral-site contest with No. 11 Monroe Community College.
