FORT PIERCE — Polk State Basketball will go without a victory in a true road game for the 2025-26 season. In the final road trip of the season, the Eagles fell at Indian River State College, 99-77.
Ethan Simon gave Polk State its only lead with a jumper to start the scoring. The Pioneers answered with a 9-0 run and never trailed again.
Polk State, however, did draw even in the second half.
Isaiah McCray scored four points on one Polk State possession to cut the lead to three late in the first half. The Eagles trailed 34-31 at the break.
Tre Jackson hit a contested 3-pointer early in the second half to tie the game at 37. Indian River State responded with a 24-5 run to seize control.
McCray led all scorers with 29 points in the loss. Jackson and
Marques DaSilva-Romeo each added 13 points. Simon and
Adonys Christo scored 10 and eight points, respectively.
Elliot Ikuobase hit five 3-pointers to lead the Pioneers with 19 points. Caleb Cameron added 18 points in the win.
Polk State will close the season with three straight home games. That begins on Wednesday night against Miami Dade College.
