Thursday, April 16 at 3 p.m.: Polk State (26-20, 13-14 Citrus Conference) at No. 20 College of Central Florida (29-16, 20-7 Citrus Conference)

Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.: No. 20 College of Central Florida (29-16, 20-7 Citrus Conference) at Polk State (26-20, 13-14 Citrus Conference)

PREVIEW

• After dropping two of three games to Miami Dade College on Friday and Saturday, Polk State now sits three games back of State College of Florida for fifth place in the Citrus Conference – the final automatic FCSAA Tournament spot. The Eagles do hold the tiebreaker over the Manatees should the teams finish with the same Citrus record.

• Although Polk State is in the middle of the pack in the FCSAA when it comes to home runs, it does rank near the top in doubles and triples. The Eagles rank fourth in the FCSAA for the year with 82 doubles and 13 triples. Hayden Testerman leads the team with 14 doubles. Marvin Montenegro leads Polk State with four triples. Kevin Brunet leads the team with seven home runs.

• After not pitching since March 19, Carson Montsdeoca returned on Friday and allowed just a run in three innings in Polk State's 4-3 win over Miami Dade. Montsdeoca ranks seventh in the FCSAA in wins (6) and ERA (3.67).

• Following a seven-inning complete game on Saturday, Roman Corinti now ranks third in the FCSAA and third nationally with 63.2 innings pitched this season. His six wins is tied with Montsdeoca for the team lead.

• Tuesday's contest with Daytona Beach Christian University will serve as the final non-conference game of the year for Polk State this season. The Eagles are 13-6 out of conference this year. With a win, they would assure themselves a fifth winning season in the last six years.

• College of Central Florida leads the Citrus Conference with a 20-7 record in league play and can clinch the conference title this weekend against Polk State. Pitcher Richard Bello ranks third in the FCSAA with seven wins. Kaiden Lopez ranks fifth with a 3.31 ERA.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Tuesday, April 14 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.: No. 10 Eastern Florida State College (30-12, 16-10 Citrus Conference) at Polk State College (18-24, 10-16 Citrus Conference)

Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.: Polk State (18-24, 10-16 Citrus Conference) at No. 3 Florida SouthWestern State College (39-5, 25-3 Citrus Conference)

PREVIEW

• After being swept by Miami Dade College on Friday, Polk State is now five games back of fifth place in the Citrus Conference. The top five teams automatically qualify for the FCSAA Tournament.

• Polk State reliever Layla Hinojosa has not allowed an earned run in any of her last four appearances. She leads the FCSAA this season with five saves.

• Calonnie Holmes and Kirsten Aldridge have been the two big bats for Polk State in the lineup this season. Holmes leads the team in hits (50), triples (3) and stolen bases (26). Aldridge leads the team with a .373 batting average, nine home runs and 30 RBIs.

• Eastern Florida State College's Avery Velasquez is one of the top two-way players in the FCSAA. In the circle, she ranks fifth in the FCSAA with a 1.35 ERA. She allowed just two hits in five shutout innings in the first meeting with Polk State as the Titans swept the doubleheader on March 10 in Melbourne. Over the two games, Velasquez also had three extra-base hits and six RBIs at the plate.

• Florida SouthWestern State College comes in leading the Citrus Conference with a 25-3 record. One of those losses, however, came to Polk State. In a 3-2 win on March 14, Avery Wende went the distance in the circle, allowing just one earned run on four hits for the Eagles. At the plate, Holmes was 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored.

• FSW's Noelani Livingstone ranks second in the FCSAA with a .482 batting average. She went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in the second game of the March 14 doubleheader against the Eagles. She was 0-for-3 in the first game.
