WINTER HAVEN – Previously recognized as the
top male scholar-athlete at Polk State College and the top scholar-athlete for his sport throughout the FCSAA, Polk State Baseball's
Kustarr Webb is now the top male scholar-athlete in the FCSAA.
On Thursday, Webb was named the FCSAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 Academic Year. The FCSAA encompasses 25 schools and eight men's sports.
Webb graduated summa cum laude in April from Polk State with his Associate in Arts degree. Over his two years at Polk State, the Jacksonville native posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
"Kustarr has been a great ambassador for Polk State Baseball and an outstanding representative for our department," said
Randy Lee, Polk State Director of Athletics. "This is an incredible accomplishment and sets the standard for what Polk State student-athletes can achieve in the classroom."
As a sophomore in 2026, Webb was among Polk State's leaders in several categories, hitting .282 with five home runs and 37 RBIs. Webb also posted a solid .425 on-base percentage.
During the fall, Webb signed to continue his athletic and academic career at Bethune Cookman University, an NCAA Division I program, in Daytona Beach. A two-time
FCSAA All-Academic Team selection, Webb was
honored last week with the Bill Tuten Award.
"Kustarr is a special young man," Head Coach
Al Corbeil said. "He's an exemplary student, teammate, player and leader. He has a very bright future in baseball and beyond."
