LAKE WALES — Polk State Soccer is no longer perfect but it did manage to remain undefeated. The Eagles scored late to salvage a 1-1 draw at Warner University JV on Tuesday night.

Isabella O'Sullivan drew Polk State (2-0-1) even in the 70th minute with a spectacular goal in which she maneuvered past multiple defenders. Riley Whale was credited with the assist.

After a scoreless first half, the Royals drew first blood in the 55th minute. Warner had a chance to win the match late when it was granted a penalty kick but Sofia Zapata came up with a clutch save to keep the match tied.

Zapata finished with seven saves. Whale registered a team-high three shots. O'Sullivan, Jaycie Noble, Jordan Robert and Oriana Moreno each registered two shots.

"This was a tough, fast-paced match," Head Coach Dee Shivraman said. "We needed this test."

After two home wins to open the season, Polk State will conclude its August slate and look for its first road victory on Friday when it visits Pasco-Hernando State College. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
