LAKELAND — After a monster day on Saturday, Polk State Soccer midfielder
Oriana Moreno is turning heads statewide.
The freshman from Orlando was named the FCSAA Player of the Week on Tuesday. Moreno finished with three goals and an assist in Saturday's 7-1 rout of Pasco-Hernando State College.
Entering the contest, Moreno had an assist to her name. Following the big day on Saturday, Moreno now has eight points (three goals, two assists) on the season — tied for fifth in the FCSAA. It was the first hat trick for a Polk State player since Noemi Casique found the net three times in a 6-1 win over Millennia Atlantic University on Oct. 5, 2024.
Moreno is tied with
Kaylin Allen in points and behind only
Isabella O'Sullivan (12) and
Jaycie Noble (11) among Polk State players. The Eagles will begin FCSAA play on Friday at Miami Dade College.
