Box Score WESLEY CHAPEL — After falling by a 7-1 score in the first meeting between the schools this season, Pasco-Hernando State College gave Polk State Soccer all it wanted on Wednesday. In the end, the Eagles found a way to escape with a 2-1 victory.
Polk State (6-2) went ahead for good early.
Katie Curry got the scoring started with a goal in the second minute.
Madison Caustic recorded the assist.
Despite Polk State holding a 20-3 shot advantage, Curry had the lone goal of the match through 76 minutes. Graycie Kidwell doubled the advantage with a penalty kick goal in the 77th minute.
Pasco-Hernando finally found the back of the net in the 86th minute. The Bobcats, however, mounted no serious threat over the final minutes.
"We got good shots; we just couldn't finish," Head Coach Dee Shivraman said. "Give Pasco-Hernando a lot of credit. This is one of those games you put behind you and prepare for next week."
Polk State has now won seven straight over the Bobcats. The Eagles will get an extended rest before resuming Region 8 play against No. 4 Daytona State College on Oct. 14.
