Box Score WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Polk State Baseball had a tough start to its weekend. The Eagles conceded 10 runs in the first three innings, as Florida SouthWestern State College defeated Polk on Friday, 12-1.
The Buccaneers (11-8) drove home their 12 runs on 16 hits, while the Eagles (10-9) managed just five total hits in the contest.

A three-run home run that towered over the left field wall in the top of the second off the bat of FSW centerfielder Albert Serrano extended the Buccaneers' lead to 8-1.
FSW starter Kelan Hoover kept the Polk hitters off balance all night long in his first win of the season, tossing six shutout frames while he only surrendered three hits. Joel Gardner and Derek Williams each recorded three hits and two runs batted in for FSW.

Dawson Turner did combine for three shutout innings to close out the game for the Eagles.
Polk looks to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles welcome Rollins College (B) to Bing Tyus Yard. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
