Box Score LAKELAND — Polk State Soccer's first home win of the season came in convincing fashion on Tuesday. The Eagles rolled to a 5-0 victory over Pasco-Hernando State College.
Noemi Casique again led the charge for Polk State (2-4). The sophomore finished with a pair of goals, giving her five in the last three matches.
One match after recording her first career assist,
Paula Cortijo Garrido found the net for the first time. She added an assist in the win. Angie Wallin also scored her first career goal for the Eagles.
Thina Ganto was one of four players to score goals for Polk State. Her first-half goal gave the Eagles a 2-0 halftime lead.
Dylan Fernandez added an assist.
Polk State dominated statistically with 25 shots on goal to just six for the Bobcats.
Leona Kraus and
Isabella Ruiz combined for the Eagles' second shutout in three matches.
Polk State will look to win consecutive matches for the first time this season on Saturday when it hosts Millenia Atlantic University for Sophomore Day. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
