Box Score PALATKA — After struggling to find much offense over the weekend, the bats came to life for Polk State Baseball on Tuesday night. The Eagles completed the season sweep of St. Johns River State College with a run-rule 14-4 victory.
Damion Kenealy homered twice in the victory.
Evan Wainman added a blast of his own as the Eagles (28-18) finished with 14 hits after managed just six total hits in its doubleheader split with Eastern Florida State College on Saturday.
Polk State led 10-0 through two and a half innings, highlighted by a six-run second. The Eagles added four runs in the fifth.
Wainman (5) and Kenealy (7) each finished with career-high RBI totals. Kenealy finished with three hits with
Luis Turmero had a career night at the plate, going 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Pierce Glading added two hits in the seven-inning win.
Six Polk State pitchers saw action on Tuesday night. The Eagles allowed eight runs and seven walks but minimized the damage by stranding 11 Vikings.
Gavin Dicks threw two scoreless innings to pick up the win.
Polk State is now a season-high-tying 10 games over .500. The Eagles will remain on the road to take on St. Petersburg College in a Citrus Conference clash on Thursday.
