Box Score WINTER HAVEN — Polk State Volleyball's quest for consecutive Citrus Conference wins came up short on Wednesday night. The Eagles fell in straight sets to No. 3 Miami Dade College.
After managing just 15 points total over the first two sets, Polk State put up a fight in the third. The Eagles (7-11, 2-6 Citrus) ultimately fell by a 25-20 score.
Alexia Ortiz led Polk State with seven kills, six digs and had one of three service aces for the Eagles.
Ella Langstrom and
Addison Phillippe had the other two aces for Polk State.
Phillippe also led the team with 11 assists. Defensively, libero
Isabella Ramos paced Polk State with 13 digs.Â
Things won't get any easier on Saturday as Polk State hosts No. 1 Florida SouthWestern State College. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
