Box Score MELBOURNE — Polk State Volleyball's postseason hopes will be decided with the final match of the regular season. With a chance to clinch an FCSAA Tournament berth on Saturday, the Eagles fell in straight sets at Eastern Florida State College.
Playing without assists leader
Addison Phillippe, the Eagles hit just .092 as a team. Eastern Florida didn't allow more than 16 points in any set in the 3-0 victory. The Titans won by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-14.
Marina Santos led Polk State (7-15, 2-9 Citrus Conference) with seven kills. With Phillippe out,
Alexia Ortiz did her best to get the offense going. She let the team with 16 assists.
Isabella Ramos led the team with eight digs. Santos and Ramos had the two aces for Polk State.
Jordyn Cox led Eastern Florida with 10 kills. Sophia Iglesias finished with 21 assists for the Titans.
Polk State will close the season on Wednesday at Santa Fe College. The winner will claim the final spot in the FCSAA Tournament. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
