WINTER HAVEN — Fresh off a top-20 win, Polk State Volleyball wasn't able to keep the momentum going on Saturday. The Eagles were swept by Santa Fe College, 3-0.
All three sets were competitive. The Saints won by scores of 25-21, 27-25 and 25-20. Santa Fe closed the opening set with an ace.
Speaking of service aces,
Alexia Ortiz led Polk State (6-10, 1-5 Citrus Conference) with three.
Addison Phillippe probably had the best offensive day for the Eagles, recording 24 assists.
Ortiz and
Camila Freitag each had three kills.
Isabella Ramos finished with four digs in the defeat.
Polk State will now get an extended rest. The Eagles will return to action on Oct. 11 when they host Hillsborough Community College at 2 p.m.
