• Polk State will face two top-10 teams this week in No. 9 Indian River State College and No. 6 Santa Fe College. The Eagles already have two wins this season over nationally ranked opponents, including a 3-2 win over then No. 3 Florida SouthWestern State College on March 14. Polk State went 1-3 against both Indian River and Santa Fe last season. It went 2-2 against College of Central Florida.

• Freshman Calonnie Holmes continues to be the big bat in the lineup. She leads the Eagles in batting average (.452), home runs (6), RBIs (20), triples (2) and stolen bases (18).

• After finishing second on the team with five home runs last season, Leia Hurst hit her first long ball of the season in Tuesday's 13-9 win over No. 11 Seminole State College of Florida. She's the sixth Polk State player to homer this season.

• For the year, Polk State is 6-4 in games decided by one run. The Eagles have won their last four such contests.

• Indian River State pitcher Emma Eekhopff leads the FCSAA and ranks third in the nation with 109 strikeouts. She's 3-1 with a 1.15 ERA this season.
