• Polk State was swept earlier this season at Daytona State College. The Falcons are led by pitcher Ava Unser, who ranks second in the FCSAA in wins (14) and strikeouts (114). Unser allowed just two hits in a 9-1 victory over Polk State on Feb. 24 in the conference opener.

• Polk State split a pair of one-run games with St. Petersburg College on March 5 in Winter Haven. Lacey Osborne delivered the Eagles to a 14-13 victory in the second game with her second walk-off home run of the season. Prior to Osborne, no Polk State player had a walk-off home run since 2019.

PREVIEW

• After winning its series with Hillsborough College, Polk State is back over .500 in Citrus Conference play at 11-10 and in fifth place in the conference. The top five teams will advance to the FCSAA Tournament.

• Roman Corinti allowed just two unearned runs in Saturday's 4-2 win over Hillsborough College to pick up his sixth win of the season. He ranks third in the FCSAA in that category.

• Caden Jensen gave Polk State a gritty effort in his first conference start on Thursday against Hillsborough, allowing two runs in four innings while fanning six.

• Hayden Porter was able to work out of a jam in the ninth inning to pick up his team-leading fourth save in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Hillsborough College. Porter is now tied for fifth in the FCSAA in that category this season.

• Freshman outfielder Bradyn Potter is the hottest bat in the lineup for Polk State. Potter has had multiple hits in 12 of his last 14 games. Potter is hitting .544 over that stretch. He leads the Eagles in batting average (.393), on-base percentage (.480), hits (59), runs scored (44) and stolen bases (11).
