PREVIEW

• Oriana Moreno earned FCSAA Player of the Week honors last week after recording a hat trick and an assist in a 7-1 win over Pasco-Hernando State College on Sept. 5.

• With 21 saves on the season, Polk State goalkeeper Sofia Zapata is tied for the FCSAA lead in that category.

• Polk State split the two contests with Eastern Florida State College last season with each team winning at home. Marie Narewski scored in the 87th minute in Lakeland last September to give the Eagles a 3-2 win over the then No. 6 Titans.

• Polk State is 3-0 at home this season. In those matches, the Eagles have outscored opponents by a 21-1 margin. 

• Eastern Florida's Esme Johnson leads the team with four goals. Alice Hemlin ranks second on the team with three goals. 

• University of South Carolina Lancaster is 5-1 on the season with its only loss coming to Eastern Florida State. Under Head Coach Dee Shivraman, Polk State is 4-1-1 against out-of-state competition.

PREVIEW

• Polk State will open Citrus Conference play against two top-10 teams. Of the Eagles' 11 matches thus far, five have come against nationally ranked teams.

• Dublin Fitzgerald set a career-high with eight blocks on Saturday against No. 19 Dodge City Community College. Fitzgerald ranks second in the FCSAA, averaging 1.18 blocks per set. Her 2.27 kills per set average also leads Polk State.

• Ana Martinez finished with a season-high 28 digs in Saturday's 3-0 loss to North Central Texas College. Martinez ranks fourth in the FCSAA, averaging 3.08 digs per set.

• During Polk State's trip to Hobbs, N.M. for the New Mexico JUCO Tournament, sophomore Camila Freitag and freshman Adriauna Combs each set career-highs for kills. Freitag finished with 11 kills against Dodge City Community College. Combs had seven against North Central Texas College.

• Wednesday's contest in Fort Myers will be Polk State's fourth match this season at Suncoast Credit Union Arena. The Eagles went 0-3 at the Battle at the Beach Invitational to begin the season.

• Florida SouthWestern State College's Ana Julia Puglia leads the FCSAA, averaging 0.83 service aces per set.

• Daytona State College has the FCSAA's leaders in both kills and digs. Yuseiry Ramirez Terrero averages an FCSAA-best 3.6 kills per set. Karina Crespo averages a state-best 4.51 digs per set.
