DAYTONA BEACH — Polk State Basketball couldn't miss from downtown on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles shot 55% from 3-point land in an 89-63 win over Wake Technical Community College at the Daytona Beach Shootout.
Polk State (1-1) never trailed in the contest. It raced to a 26-11 lead, but at the break, the advantage was only 36-31.
Polk State turned the game into a rout over the final six-plus minutes.

Isaiah McCray all hit 3-pointers during a 22-9 run that extended the lead from five to 79-61.Â
After a basket from Wake Tech's BJ Solomon made it 79-63, Polk State scored the game's final 10 points. McCray shot 6-for-8 from deep and led the Eagles with 24 points.
Josh Pitts finished 8-for-13 from the field and 4 of 7 from distance to finish with 20 points. Dailey added 16 points, seven assists and three steals.
As a team, Polk State shot 53% for the day. Solomon led the other set of Eagles with 14 points in the loss.
After a split at the Daytona Beach Shootout, the Eagles will get an extended rest before playing their home opener. Polk State will host IMG Academy on Nov. 9.
