PREVIEW

It was the first walk-off home run for a Polk State player since Destinee Jackson ended a contest against Hillsborough Community College with a three-run bomb on March 21, 2019.

• Polk State freshman pitcher Layla Hinojosa is now the FCSAA leader in ERA. The freshman is posting an 0.53 ERA and hasn't allowed an earned run since the season opener against Parkland College on Jan. 23. She leads Polk State with eight appearances this season.

• Polk State will play its final three games at home. The Eagles finished without a win in a true road game this season.

• Miami Dade College has clinched a berth in the FCSAA Tournament, but will look to avoid the play-in. Saturday's contest will be the regular season finale for the Sharks. Miami Dade won the first meeting between the schools earlier this season 76-58 on Jan. 24. Anthony Breland, who leads the FCSAA in free-throw percentage (.871), led Miami Dade with 20 points in the first meeting. Eric Dailey paced Polk State with 18 points.

• Like Polk State, Hillsborough College has been eliminated from FCSAA competition. The Hawks are led by Chandler Davis, who ranks second in the FCSAA, averaging 21.2 points per game. Davis finished with 21 points and seven assists in Hillsborough's 81-77 win over Jan. 28. Nicholas Womack led the Hawks with a game-high 23 points. McCray paced the Eagles with 21 points.
