Five Polk State Baseball players named All-Citrus for 2026

WINTER HAVEN — After a fifth 30-win season in six years, Polk State Baseball was well-represented on the All-Citrus Conference Team, released Friday. Five Eagles were recognized as All-Conference performers.

Freshman catcher Marvin Montenegro was the lone first-team selection. This season, the Lakeland native hit .342 with five home runs, 45 RBIs, 52 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. Montenegro also led the Eagles with four triples.

Freshman outfielder Bradyn Potter, redshirt freshman infielder Jack Muller and sophomore starting pitchers Roman Corinti and Carson Montsdeoca were each named to the second team. With a perfect fielding percentage and four outfield assists, Potter was also named to the Citrus Conference All-Defensive Team.

The lead-off man for Polk State, Potter led the Eagles in batting average (.379), on-base percentage (.494), slugging (.538), hits (74), runs scored (61) and stolen bases (20). Potter finished second on the team with six home runs while adding 37 RBIs. Muller hit .352 with four home runs and a team-high 48 RBIs while ranking second on the team with 14 doubles.

On the mound, Corinti and Montsdeoca finished with identical 6-3 records, finishing the regular season tied for 10th in the FCSAA in wins. Montsdeoca's 3.90 ERA led Polk State and ranked sixth in the FCSAA. Corinti led the Eagles with 63.2 innings pitched – good for eighth in the FCSAA.

The five All-Conference selections were the third-most among Citrus Conference teams. Only Florida SouthWestern State College and College of Central Florida had more. Polk State finished with a 30-24 record this season.

"I'm proud to see our players recognized by the coaches in our conference for the dedication they showed and the results they earned on the field this year," Head Coach Al Corbeil said. "They put in the work and have a lot to be proud of."
