LAKELAND – After traveling more than 4,000 miles from home, forward
Isabella O'Sullivan has wasted no time making her mark on Polk State Soccer.
Following a splendid start, O'Sullivan has been selected as the Eagle of the Month for August 2026. The Eagle of the Month is selected by the Polk State Athletics Eagle of the Month Committee.
In four matches in August, O'Sullivan has proven to be a dynamic scorer. She currently leads the FCSAA in goals (4) and points (9).
"Watching Isabella play, the two words that come to mind are 'sheer determination,'" Head Coach Dee Shivraman said. "She's not afraid of anything. The fight in her game is downright impressive."
After finishing with a pair of goals in the season opener – an 8-0 victory over Central Georgia Technical College on Aug. 22 – O'Sullivan came through with the equalizer in the second half on Aug. 25 in a 1-1 draw with Warner University JV. She scored her fourth goal in as many matches on Friday to give the Eagles a two-goal lead in a 2-1 win over Pasco-Hernando State College.

Randy Lee, Polk State Director of Athletics. "She has played a major role in helping our soccer program get off to an outstanding start."
In addition to leading the FCSAA in goals and points, O'Sullivan ranks second in total shots (11) and fourth in shots on goal (7). O'Sullivan recorded her first career assist on Aug. 23 in a 6-0 win over Central Georgia Technical College.
"I had the opportunity to attend the season opener with my daughters and watch our Eagles earn an impressive 8-0 victory," President Anastasios Kamoutsas added. "It was exciting to see the energy surrounding Polk State Soccer, and Isabella was a big part of what made that afternoon so memorable. Her success is a wonderful example of the talent and determination of our student-athletes at Polk State."
Just a freshman, O'Sullivan is a big reason why Polk State is taking an undefeated 3-0-1 record into September. O'Sullivan and the Eagles will try to start September on the right foot on Friday when they visit New College of Florida JV.
