Box Score WINTER HAVEN — Polk State Basketball will enter December on a three-game winning streak. The Eagles took care of business on Saturday with a convincing 117-70 victory over Florida College JV.
Up 51-38 at halftime, Polk State (4-2) was firing on all cylinders in the second half. The Eagles shot 55% and scored 66 points over the final 20 minutes.Â
Polk State also turned up the heat defensively. The Falcons shot just 23% in the second half (6-for-26) and managed just 32 points.Â
As a team, Polk State finished with 18 made 3-pointers.
Marques DaSilva-Romeo made six of those triples, finishing with a team- and career-high 27 points.
In total, five Polk State players scored in double figures.
Eric Dailey, the Eagles' leading scorer for the season, finished with 19 points, seven assists and five steals.
Tre Jackson added 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Josh Pitts added 16 points and a game-high eight assists.
Moises Valdez chipped in with 11 points.
Ethan Simon and
Braylin Wells each added nine points in the win. Felix Harrell made six 3-pointers and led the Falcons with 24 points.
The 47-point beatdown serves as the most lopsided win of the season for the Eagles. Polk State will get an extended rest before heading to Tallahassee to take on Chipola College for the Region 8 Shootout on Dec. 6.
