WINTER HAVEN – Polk State Volleyball closed August with back-to-back wins. The Eagles' freshman setter closed the month with an internal honor.

Addison Phillippe has been named the Eagle of the Month for August 2025. The Eagle of the Month is selected by the Polk State Athletics Eagle of the Month Committee and recognizes Polk State College's top athletic performer.

A native of Indiana, Phillippe will enter September ranking in the top five in the FCSAA in two major statistical categories. Phillippe ranks third in assists per set (8.43) – good for 16th nationally – and fourth in service aces per set (0.52).

Phillippe finished with 47 assists in Polk State's 3-1 win over the University of South Carolina Sumter last week. That was most for a Polk State player since Madi O'Sullivan finished with 49 against Daytona State College on Oct. 4, 2023, and the most for a Polk State freshman in three years.

From the service line, Phillippe has had multiple aces in each of her last four matches, including three on three separate occasions. Her teammate Marina Santos ranks second in the FCSAA in service aces per set, averaging 0.57.

After an 0-3 start, Phillippe and the Eagles will look to keep the momentum going as they head to Melbourne for the Eastern Florida Tournament for four matches in two days, beginning on Friday. During its stay in Melbourne, Polk State will face Lake Land College, Jefferson College, University of South Carolina Lancaster and Andrew College.
