Josh Cruz's bunt single capped the comeback on Tuesday night as Polk State Baseball scored two runs in the ninth to down St. Petersburg College, 7-6.
After Mel Rubiera tripled home the go-ahead run for St. Petersburg in the top of the ninth,
Mason Mojica answered with the game-tying double to score
Zach Lester in the bottom of the inning.Mojica scored the game-winning run two batters later on Cruz's well-placed bunt to third.
Polk State (20-13) trailed 5-1 early on. The Eagles cut the lead to 5-2 in the third and tied the game with three runs in the fourth.
Liam O'Neil singled home the first run in the frame before
Simon Scharff's two-run single tied the game at 5-5.
Lester finished with two hits and two runs scored. Rubiera had three hits for the Titans. Like Scharff, O'Neil drove in two runs.

Jason Sawyer,
Roman Corinti, and
Aiden Alvarez combined to throw 5.2 scoreless innings of relief. Despite allowing a run in the ninth,
Zane Wright earned the win.
Polk State will resume Citrus Conference play on Thursday at home against Daytona State College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
